Child Dedication

Child Dedication Class

Are you planning on dedicating your child to the Lord? Parents are required to attend the in-person class two weeks prior to the dedication on Sunday, April 27th at 10am (meet at New Family Check-in at any of our campus locations) if this is your first time dedicating a child at Riverside. This class will discuss the significance of the act of dedication as well as communicate the details of dedication Sunday.

Next Dedication: May 11, 2025

FAQ

how often do child dedications take place?

Usually in January, Mother’s Day in May and in August or September.

Do I need to be a member of Riverside to have my child dedicated?

No, we don't require membership in order to have your child dedicated.

what if I can't make it to class?

If you're unable to attend the child dedication class, please watch this video below.

is my child too old to be dedicated?

Nope, all ages are welcome! We've dedicated one week old babies, 17-year olds, and every age in between.

do I get to choose which service my child is dedicated at?

Yes, but there are limited spots per service. If your preferred service time is not available on the form, it means that service is full and you will have to choose another service.

What if I'm running late or we get sick at the last minute?

Please text (not email) the contact person for your campus, which you will receive in the email communication you get leading up to Dedication Sunday.

what if my child starts crying or making a scene during the ceremony?

Not to worry! If that happens, it’s not a big deal. They're kids and we all understand it can happen.
