Avalanche Winter Weekend Camp: Grades 3-5
Fun in the snow awaits kids in Grades 3-5 who attend our Avalanche Weekend at Big Sandy Camp in McGregor MN! We'll tube, compete, play inside and out, make campfire donuts, worship, and grow in our faith & friendships as we talk more about the freedom we can only find in Jesus! It is a wonderful, action-packed 48 hours.
Cost: $140, Registration deadline is 1.24.25.
Need Transportation? If your camper needs a ride to and from Big Sandy Camp, CLICK HERE to sign up for transportation for $15/camper. You can pay the transportation fee at drop off on Friday 2/7 with cash or card. Vans transporting campers will leave the Big Lake Campus at 4pm Friday 2/7 and return at 1:30pm Sunday 2/9 to the Big Lake Campus. If you do not sign up for transportation, then getting to and from Big Sandy Camp is on your own.
Avalanche Packing List
A few details to note:
- Mark luggage with BOY/GIRL and camper’s name. Bedding should be inside a trash bag or suitcase.
- Medications must be turned in to us at check-in. Must be in original containers and include camper’s name. This includes: Inhalers, Epi-pen, etc.
- Be sure to pack proper attire for extended outdoor periods in the snow and cold.
What to Pack:
- a sack lunch & book/activity for the ride up to camp
- sleeping bag or bedding (single), pillow
- a water bottle with their name clearly marked
- towel, toiletries
- Bible, pen
- 3 full sets of clothes in marked Ziploc bags (make sure everything is well labeled with their name)
- outdoor clothes (snow pants, boots, mittens, coat, hat, etc.)
- tennis shoes
- a little spending money for the store or snack shop ($5-$15 is usually sufficient)
What not to bring:
- Electronic devices of any kind
- Small or expensive personal items or toys
