Pastor Tony Myles

We tend to mentally put God a thousand feet above us.

The Truth is He’s  so much closer and more personal than that.

If you want real Life in  of your life, you have to invite real Life into of your life. As in, “Whateverything.”

  • “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17, NIV)
  • By inviting God to not just be first, but first in , He can take our openhanded “whatever” attitude and transform “everything!”

Where does this ask come from?

Lots of real love and “I saw what you did there” . (Col. 1:3-8)

“If you see your brother in need, it doesn’t matter if you already gave somewhere else. You should be open to the idea of God using you to meet your brother’s unexpected need.” - Andy Stanley, Fields of Gold

  • Who/What?

A dare to keep stepping into what really happened and is . (Col. 1:9-14)

“Success is not what you have done compared to what others have done. Success is what you have done compared to what you were supposed to do.” - Dr. Tony Evans

  • When/Where?

Calling out  Christianity, which isn’t Christianity at all. (Col. 2:6-8)

“One of the greatest mistakes you can make in life is assuming all your thoughts are true.” - Jon Acuff, Soundtracks

  • Why/How?

Casting vision for complete  in Christ. (Col. 2:9-14)

“If you intend to live in the Story that God is telling, and if you want the life he offers, then you are going to need more than a handful of principles, however noble they may be.” - John Eldredge, Waking the Dead

  • Because?

The Often-Overlooked, Pushed-Back-On, Frequently-Rationalized-Against… Yet Very Real Pathways to Whateverything (Col. 3:1-4)

  • Your raw feelings, or a God-given ? (v1)
  • Your pre-dispositioned brain, or a  mind? (v2)
    • “Our choices get ‘under the skin’ of our DNA and can turn certain genes on and off, changing the structure of the neurons in our brains… but we are  of our biology. We are co-creators of our destiny alongside God. God leads, but we have to choose to let God lead… your predisposition is not a destiny.” - Dr. Caroline Leaf, Switch On Your Brain
  • Your Jesus , or an actual  through Jesus? (v3-4)

Broken thinking begins with a broken . (Col. 3:5-11)

  • “Put to death”  “let it die” or “build a tolerance.” (v5-7)
  • When you “rid yourself” of one thing you create space for something else. What if you let Jesus declutter your thoughts and ?” (v8)
  • Unguided thinking creates unguided . (v9-11)
    • Consider: Your  criticism, pessimism and skepticism.
    • Consider: Your avoidance of truth-living .
    • Consider: Your unique effort to avoid saying something .

thinking makes you open to  living. (Col. 3:12-16)

  • To “clothe” means we wear something winning for us AND for others.

What could be different if you “Whateverything” with Jesus?:

  • Instead of waiting around for something major to happen, you’d actively discover a deep wholeness with Jesus in the seemingly .
  • You’d get “out there” and start walking in the  you know God wants you to go while trusting His infusion of power and wisdom will continue.
  • You’d finally do business with any blind spots and intentional mental walls you’ve set up against the one you call “.”
  • You’d double-check your Christianity-isms that limit seeing God in all things (i.e. thinking/saying, “God ,” vs. “I  God.”).

Don’t miss this…   If you limit “” with God to church gatherings, after you leave that space you’ll spiritually crumple up like a recycled or filed away worship folder.
