We Belong

Pastor Tom Lundeen

When we don’t know who we are, or if we have wrong ideas about who we are…it will  everything about our life…(note Proverbs 23:7a).

One of the biggest struggles people have when it comes to their self-awareness and identity comes from their  background…

If we’ve said Yes to Jesus as Lord, then one of the most important parts of our REAL ID is:

1. We  to God’s Family

Note Hebrews 2:10

Our physical family or origin has more influence and power in  our lives (positively or negatively) than any other single factor.

But whether you see your family as fantastic…or dysfunctional…there’s one thing every family has in common…every physical family comes .

But we can be part of a family that lasts , God’s family.

• When you say Yes to Jesus as Lord, in His eyes, you become God’s  (note John 1:12).
• You’re in His  (note 1 Timothy 3:15; Ephesians 2:19; Acts 2:42a).
• God chose us, He  us (note Romans 8:15, 23b; Ephesians 1:5; Galatians 4:5-7; 1 John 3:1a).
• You are the  of His love and the  of His eternal plan and mission.
• He loves you because of His grace (note Romans 5:6, 8; 1 John 4:9-10).

2. We Are His Special  (note 1 Peter 2:9a; 1 Corinthians 3:23)

• God wants to be our Heavenly/Perfect  (note Matthew 6:9) - Whether your relationship with your human father was good, bad, or non-existent, God can be your amazing new Father who has your best interests in mind and sees you .
• God is a  and the Church (everyone who has said Yes to Jesus as Lord) is His bride (note Ephesians 5) – When you say “” to God, you become His and He becomes yours.
• Jesus calls His followers “” (note John15:15) – we belong, we fit just right, we have a special place in God’s forever family as His special  (note Hebrews 2:10-11).

Where are you finding your REAL ID:

• The greatest  offered in life is belonging to God’s family.
• You are of  value to God (note John 3:16).
• You have to  to become part of God’s family (note Galatians 3:26, 28, 29).
• Put your faith in and say Yes to Jesus as Lord and discover that your REAL ID is to be a child of God!
