In 2022 being unoffendable sounds impossible since we live in a Cancel Culture world where people are   offended, or looking for a way to be offended.

Is it actually possible to  an unoffendable life?

Today we need to look less at those people, and more in the ... (note Luke 18:9-13).

1. How Jesus'  Would Have Seen the Two Characters

The Pharisees were Jewish religious leaders who took their  to God and His laws seriously.

They just didn't try to follow the 10 Commandments, but they developed their list of laws to follow = !

(Note Luke 18:12)

The tax collectors...were viewed by people as the  of the earth.

As soon as Jesus said Pharisee and tax collector, there was no doubt in anyone's mind who was bad and who was good...

They would have been  by Jesus' conclusion (note Luke 18:13-14a).

2. A  to Navigate

The main reason our world is so broken, and people's lives are so messy, and chaos seems to dominate everything is because God's truth has been distorted, , and ignored.

Note John 8:32

But because we know God's truth and what's right, sometimes we get  by those who ignore/deny/attack God's truth and do/say/think what's wrong.

And if we stay offended long enough, an offense , starts to grow, and eventually makes its home in our heart.

And it grows from offense to .

And if we're not careful, instead of hating what someone does, we start to hate .

When we see how wrong others can be, we fall into the  trap and forget that as human beings, we all share the same major problem = spiritually defective DNA (note Romans 3:10-12, 23; Jeremiah 17:9).

And even when we are right, we might be /not loving (note 1 Corinthians 13:1-3).

CAN I LIVE AN UNOFFENDABLE LIFE?:

  • Jesus cares much about  and right and wrong.
  • But He's also concerned about  and humility.
  • Key =  (note Luke 18:14; Philippians 2:5-11).
  • We can speak truth and be right, but be proud and be .
  • Or, like Jesus, we can speak truth and be right; but never forget that, I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind but now I see.
  •  is the fuel that helps us live an unoffendable life (note James 4:6).
