Facing Our Giants (Part 2)

Pastor Tom Lundeen

Giants are problems/obstacles that loom large over us, often produce fear, and paralyze us moving .

Everyone has to face  in their lives.

What most of us don’t realize is that before David ever faced Goliath, he had to face at least  other giants that all of us will also face.

1. Paralyzing Interruptions

2. Shattering Disappointments

3.  Accusations

No one wants to be rejected, looked down on, talked to rudely, have our  questioned, and be dressed down in front of others.

But if you really want to follow Jesus and embrace His purposes and dreams, know that not everyone will  you and pat you on the back.

Note 1 Samuel 17:26-29 and 16:6-7

Sometimes even people  to you can’t always see how God is at work in your life.

It’s hard to navigate  and personal attacks.

Note Mark 3:20-21 and John 7:1-5

There’s always a  to  navigate…

We will have to navigate at times whether God’s  is more important to you and me than the  of people…

4.  Doubts

Doubts can be -doubts.

But often feeding into any -doubt are the doubts others have  at us.

After dealing with his older brother’s disparaging words, he now had to deal with the most important  expert in Israel.

Note 1 Samuel 17:26, 30-31, 32-33

The  aren’t always right.

What’s your giant?:

  • Who am I  to?
  • If I mostly only listen to the giants, I’ll  of paralyzing interruptions/delays, and shattering disappointments.
  • And if I’m mostly listening to the voices of others who may be close to me, or who supposedly know more than me, I’ll be  and stuck by their disparaging words and by the nagging doubts that swirl around.
  • There are more   in today’s world than ever before that create giants in our lives, and they get their  in our lives when we listen to them more than we listen to God.
  • So who we listen to  makes all the difference when we face giants in our lives (note Psalm 18:35).
