Passage: Acts 1:8

Why does multiplying by multisite matter so much? If we are at all serious about Jesus' last command and first concern and believe this is our mission to complete both as a church and as individuals, then reaching as many people as possible has to be our #1 focus and priority.

Multiplying Matters

Pastor Tom Lundeen

Having one church with  campuses while being one family is called multisite.

Riverside Church exists to  people and help them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Why does multiplying by multisite matter so much?

1. Because  People Matter to God

Not to strategize is a  strategy. (Piper)

If we are at all serious about Jesus'  command and  concern (note Acts 1:8 and John 20:21) and believe that this is our mission to complete both as a church and as individuals, then reaching as many people as possible has to be our #1 focus and priority.

In a 10-mile radius of Buffalo are over  people (more than  if you include parts of Monticello, St. Michael, and Albertville).

About  people in this area are in practice .

Their eternal destiny lies in the balance (note John 3:18, 36; 1 Peter 1:23).

And I want you to feel the wonderful weight of this calling, and by God's grace, embrace it.

2. This Strategy Reflects the  Heart of Jesus

Note John 3:16; Mark 2:17; Luke 19:10; John 6:28-29; 12:27; 14:6;

Acts 4:12; Romans 5:6, 8; 1 Timothy 1:15-16

Jesus was always looking for the next place to reach  people

(note Mark 1:35-38).

Note 1 Corinthians 9:19

Every number has a name, every name has a , and every story matters to God and needs to matter to us.

Note 1 Corinthians 9:20-22, 23

There's just one compelling reason to start a 3rd campus in Buffalo:

That the greatest  God ever performs...

...changing lives, transforming hearts,  people from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light, taking people dead in their sins and making them alive in Jesus, making lost people become found people, taking spiritual orphans and adopting them as sons and daughters in His own  family...

What does it mean for Riverside to MULTIPLY?:

  • God is calling us to  as many people as possible.
  • Our part to play?
  • .
  • Commit to being a part of the core of the new Buffalo campus.
  • Take a next step (or a first step) in generosity/.
  • As we partner with God, we will have the privilege to witness God's greatest miracle again and again in people's lives.
