It was rare for Jesus to be in front of people who didn't wish He was different from who He really was. How does our understanding of Jesus impact how we see ourselves and the purpose He has called us to?

At the Edge...?

When you know Jesus more , you can see everything more  (see John 8:12-15a).

 

Where in life are you "at the edge?"

 

How might you also be "at the edge?"

 

Just as there's a deeper reality to life than the  we often live in, there's a deeper reality to  than what we may consider...

and, accordingly, there's a deeper reality to . 

 

Your own... personal... Jesus.

"For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost." (Luke 19:10)

  • There was hardly ever a time when Jesus stood before someone who wasn't wishing He was somehow . 
  • Throwback: "I AM... the bread of life... the light of the world... the gate... the good shepherd... the resurrection and the life... the way, the truth, and the life... the true vine."
  • Gut check: "I want..."

 

If we  Jesus down to less than who He is when we think of Him, we  all of who He is when we need Him. 

Consequently, we spend our lives in a fog of  from our deeper purpose in life. 

At the edge of purpose (Luke 3:21-22, Luke 4:1-13)

  • A: "I want to be ."
  • A: "I want to feel ."
  • A: "I want to get ."
  • A: "I want to experience ." 

 

Notice, each tough thing Jesus faced was something "" others . 

 

"Part of what makes the shadow mission so tempting is that it's usually so closely related to our gifts and passions. It's not 180 degrees off track; it is just 10 degrees off track, but that 10 degrees is in the direction of hell."

Notice, by acknowledging through Scripture what wasn't His purpose, Jesus powerfully . (Luke 4:14)

  • God has given you the means, skills, gifts, and opportunities to have a glorious   discovering your mission.
  • Only by spending time with Him will you  Him. (Luke 4:16, 5:16)

 

From Stress to Rest in 2023: 

 

  • The size of your life impacts your  for stress.
  • The size of  impacts the size of your life.
  •  > FOMO or FOMU
